The island is heating up, summer is here and the nights are full of sweaty dancefloor explorations. Sunday being a fun day, there is no better way to spend your evening but with a We Love boogie accompanied by smiling faces and top-notch entertainers in Space, Ibiza.
The sunset terrace was overflowing with drum and bass admirers led by the sound of The Correspondents’ live show. The dub beat fans were ecstatic for the performance, which was a significant part of the over all Space experience last Sunday.
Warming up the early crowd on the terrace was Ryan O’Gorman, an established and influential figure on the island and an old-school We Love resident. His careful mix of house, funk and a lot of fresh tunes seemed to hypnotize the early ravers and kick off the evening for the later stretch.
Continuing the We Love journey was one of the ‘Fresh Blood’ project winners – Martyn. Mixing house, techno, dub and D&B is not so easy, but the lad earned his place behind the We Love decks and his effort and music was appreciated by the thirsty for Sunday-fun crowd.
Ben UFO and Paul Woolford were on entertainment duties inside the Discoteca. Their back-to-back tag team showed some serious music action. Combining their skills behind the decks was a trippy, diverse and groundbreaking experience. From techno to house, mixed with a lot of dark bass lines to match the cloudy atmosphere and the well known sound system in the room, their tag team was a pleasant surprise.
El Salon saw a local take over with Chris Bones, Brydie Tong, and Will Worrel disco jamming in the loungy room, spreading love through their music.
Highlight of the night had to be the live show between Mathew Jonson and Minilogue. An absolute mind blowing experience with Jonson and the two guys dedicated and fully concentrated on the music performance, which was an unforgettable organic experience delivered through a diverse selection of instruments.
The last live interaction between the three dates a few years back and it is always an educational musical journey not to be missed. A hypnotic and melodic trip taking different turns and twists for a mesmerizing climax.
Computer, midi controllers, synths, drum machines, guitar pedals, effects, mixer were all combined with expertise for a professionally delivered and energetic live performance.
We Love Sundays ar Space was born a while back in Ibiza. This gathering is about the fundamentals of a good party: the right DJs at the right time in the right place playing the right music. On that note this past Sunday followed the same model with an influential line up of artists which proved no disappointment.
Space was once more turned into an adult playground with artists rolling one after another into the morning hours, creating the underlying magic of We Love Sundays.
