Circoloco residents, System of Survival, are ready to release their new EP “I Mean”, out on BPitch this February. The EP will feature five original productions in addition to remixes by Miguel Campbell, Matt Hughes, and DOS.
Following the success of the release of their first album “Needle and Thread”, this coming EP titled “I Mean” is a true description of house music, traveling through past and present, underlining the ever-evolving genre. The seven track EP combines melodic accents with strong influence from Chicago, Detroit and New York, which the boys have a strong appreciation for, to deliver a diverse play list. “Crash What”, remixed by Miguel Campbell and Matt Hughes, incorporates a beautiful male vocal with light effects and synths, perfect for the upcoming sunny spring fiascos, while “Nihil”, remixed by the Italian duo DOS, blends a more dramatic and techy sound with precautions for a great finish.
Noteworthy moments include “I’m Not Able To”, a step back to the realm of the deep house sound of the 90’s, combining a soft piano with a jazzy yet edgy touch to the melody and “King Of The Beat”, a romantic workout that might be just the perfect tune for Valentines day. It’s a downtempo ballad incorporating a strong and influential female vocal, a sexy finish to this musical romance.
